Cēsis

 

 

Our projects are implemented in town - Cēsis (www.cesis.lv) This is where our organization has an office. Cēsis is one of the most ancient cities of Latvia and historically has been established as a centre of the Vidzeme. Cēsis with its 19 000 inhabitants is a major cultural centre of Vidzeme - one of the 4 regions of Latvia. Cēsis is truly not only one of the oldest but also one of the most Latvian towns. Rich in picturesque landscapes and testimonies of the past, it embodies both an intriguing sense of antiquity and modern self-esteem. Both Cēsis and the Cēsis district are among the most attractive temptations for visitors of Vidzeme. If you wish torecover your mind from the crowd of the city, you should take a walk through the small lanes of Cēsis, which still maintain their layout as in medieval times. They cross unique silent yards, with small one- or two-storey buildings with red tile roofs on the side. The Cēsis church and the old castle-ruins with the castle park are places where to let yourself think and wonder.

 

Cēsis is surrounded by beautiful forests and streams. In the forests there are birds, boars, foxes, beavers, deers, mooses, you name it! Also The lakes are full of fish and aquatic birds.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ninieris is one of the many lakes in Cēsis region, where in the summer time people go swimming and bath in the sun. Cēsis is the second largest city in the Vidzeme planning region. Geographically Cēsis is located 87 km from Riga, between two significant transport corridors - Riga-Veclaicene and Incukalns-Valmiera.

 

Cēsis is rich of nature and cultural heritage.
